Urban Ladder
About Us
Urban Ladder, founded in 2012 by Ashish Goel and Rajiv Srivatsa, was created to address the challenge of finding stylish, high-quality furniture in India. What began as an online platform has since grown into a major omnichannel retailer, offering an impressive array of furniture and home décor items through over 50 physical stores in key cities across India.
The company’s extensive catalog boasts more than 5,000 unique designs spanning 35 categories, including living rooms, bedrooms, dining areas, and workspaces. A notable 60% of Urban Ladder’s sales come from its in-house designs, reflecting the company’s strong commitment to originality. Urban Ladder’s design philosophy embraces a wide variety of styles, such as Minimalist, Scandinavian, Bauhaus, Classical, and Shaker, catering to diverse tastes and preferences.
Beyond just furniture, Urban Ladder offers a suite of services aimed at enhancing the customer experience, such as professional furniture delivery, installation, and personalized interior design consultancy. One of its standout features is the use of augmented reality (AR) technology, which helps customers visualize how products will look in their homes before making a purchase.
The company operates a hybrid model that combines its robust online platform with physical stores, and it also partners with popular marketplaces like Amazon and Flipkart to expand its reach. Looking ahead, it plans to double its retail footprint and expand to 32 cities, further strengthening its presence. Urban Ladder continues to invest in technology to enhance its e-commerce capabilities and improve the customer experience.
In a significant move, Reliance Retail acquired a 96% stake in Urban Ladder in November 2020. To say the least, this is more than enough to signal the company’s growth potential and its future as a key player in India’s evolving home furnishings market.
