EaseMyTrip
About Us
Founded in 2008 by brothers, Nishant, Rikant, and Prashant Pitti, EaseMyTrip is a shining example of how a small idea, born out of necessity, can scale into an industry giant. The idea for EaseMyTrip began humbly. Initially, it was a platform that connected travel agents to airlines- which did turn profitable.\
With foresight, they realised the changing trends in the market. People were fed up with the steep commissions charged by traditional travel agents and began booking online themselves. They quickly expanded into the B2C segment in 2011, allowing customers to book flights directly as well.
They made waves with their low-cost, competitive pricing. But, the promise of a zero-convenience fee while booking airline tickets online was their hitmaker. Also, they were lauded for their quick customer service options- a perk of having an in-house call centre. With steady growth, EaseMyTrip diversified to hotel bookings and holiday packages, entering the B2B realm again.
Their people-centric approach is visible in how they treat their customers and employees- priding themselves on valuing both equally. During the pandemic’s lockdown, EaseMyTrip used their own cash reserves to issue refunds on cancellations- without waiting for the airlines to do so . This moment cemented their values in people’s minds. In moments of global uncertainty, they chose integrity.
EaseMyTrip valued its customers, focusing on building lasting relationships of trust with them. This strategy paid off brilliantly. The company remained bootstrapped for over 13 years- not a single rupee from outside. In 2021, when it launched its IPO, it was oversubscribed by over 159 times- a testament to its foundations. It was then that they also achieved unicorn status. As of 2024, they have served over 26 million customers with a market capitalization of INR 5,700 crores. Their story is truly one to be remembered.
